Professor Sergey Shabala is a Head of the Stress Physiology laboratory at University of Tasmania and a Co-Director of the Australia-China Research Centre for Plant Stress Biology. He is also an Editor-in-Chief for Functional Plant Biology and a Visiting Professor at Shandong Normal University, Yangtze University, and Lanzhou University, China. His major research expertise is in stress physiology and membrane transport in plants. He is currently ranked within top 0.1% (376 out of roughly 700,000 cited) scientists working in the area of Plant and Animal Science according to ISI Essential Science Indicators.
